The team was called today by the Yorkshire ambulance service (YAS) to assist in treating and the extrication of a fallen walker on Ilkley Moor. The 70 year old female had slipped on the path near to the Cow & Calf rocks, dislocating and potentially fracturing her ankle. The team assisted YAS in administering pain relief, reduction of the dislocation and splinting the injury with the teams vacuum splint. The patient was then transferred to the waiting ambulance for an onward journey to hospital.
