On Tuesday 9th July the team's assistance was requested at Swinden Quarry by the Yorkshire Ambulance, to extricate a male quarry worker who had a suspected dislocated knee, rendering him unable to exit the digger he was operating. The team was joined by the Fire service, who were successful in rescuing the injured man from the digger cab, despite the lack of working space and the casualty in severe pain. UWFRA team members assisted the fire service in carrying the casualty to the awaiting ambulance, where he was swiftly transported to hospital.
