3rd Jun 2023

Attendees: 9

Duration : 4hrs 31min

Total Attendance Time : 40hr 39 mins

The team was called by North Yorkshire Police to attend a walker who had injured their leg near the Summit of Simons Seat. We were able to speak to the casualty, and established they had been jumping onto a rock when their leg gave way, they were able to get down to firm ground but only made 50m before calling for help. The staff at the Bolton Abbey Estate assisted by opening the gates and informing the game keepers that we were driving on the fell. This assistance from the estate is very much appreciated it makes accessing the casualty so much easier. Fell 2 went up to the casualty location whilst Fell 1 met with the Ambulance crew before heading up. Yorkshire Air Ambulance initially were tasked from Topcliffe and were almost on scene, however they were stood down by the Airdesk who had spoken directly with casualty. The casualty was treated by the team and stretchered down to a team vehicle to be driven off the hill to meet with the ambulance at the road.
