Incident #7 – 07/2026: Sharphaw Rescue
Earlier today, UWFRA team was called out by YAS to assist a 51-year-old lady who had fallen while out walking on Sharphaw, sustaining a deep cut to her knee. Fortunately, our team members were already nearby and were on scene within 20 minutes of receiving the call.
Thanks to their quick assessment and professional care, the casualty received prompt treatment for her injury. Once stabilized, she was handed over to YAS paramedics and safely escorted down the hill to a waiting ambulance for onward care.
A special shout-out goes to James from New Laithe Farm, who generously gave the paramedics a lift up to the casualty site on the back of his quad. Acts like these remind us how community spirit and teamwork can make a real difference in emergency situations.
