Scar House Reservoir

The team was called out just after midnight for our first incident of 2026.

The request for assistance came from the ambulance service, who were responding to reports of distressed persons experiencing difficulty driving in icy and snowy conditions near Scar House Reservoir. Due to the remote location and challenging weather, communications with the reporting party were limited.

A small team was deployed to attend and provide assistance if required. Upon arrival at the scene, it was confirmed that the fire service and ambulance crews had successfully made contact with the casualties and were already providing support.

As the situation was under control and no further assistance was needed, the team was stood down and returned to base.

We would like to remind everyone to take extra care when travelling during winter conditions, particularly in remote and exposed areas, and to consider whether journeys are necessary when severe weather is forecast.
