UWFRA Attend Remembrance Memorial at Linton Parish Church
Today, members of the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) attended the annual Remembrance Memorial at Linton Parish Church. It was both a privilege and an honour for the team to take part in such a meaningful service, joining the community in paying tribute to all those who gave their lives in service to our country.
A wreath was laid on behalf of all UWFRA members, symbolising our collective respect and gratitude for the fallen. As we paused in reflection, we remembered the immense courage, sacrifice, and sense of duty shown by those who served qualities that continue to inspire us today.
The words of Laurence Binyon remain as poignant as ever:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
UWFRA would like to extend sincere thanks to all members who attended the service and to those who took a moment to remember, wherever they were. Your presence and respect help ensure that the memory of the glorious dead, and the sacrifices they made for our freedom, are never forgotten.
Lest we forget.
