Training in Tough Conditions at How Stean Gorge
Last night, members of Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) headed out to How Stean Gorge for an evening of rope rescue training — one of the most essential skill sets for our team.
The focus for this session was on refining rope techniques and reflecting on the lessons learned from Callout #41, ensuring that every real-world experience helps us strengthen our approach and improve our efficiency for future rescues.
Despite some truly awful weather conditions, the team showed great commitment and enthusiasm throughout the exercise. As we like to say, “if it ain’t raining, it ain’t training!”
