Our first call out was to assist with the extrication of a lady who had taken a tumble and fallen a significant distance down a steep bank whilst out walking near to the Strid at Bolton Abbey. The Yorkshire Ambulance Service were first on scene and provided medical care. As soon as the team arrived, the casualty was quickly moved onto the stretcher and transported down to the ambulance for onward travel to hospital.

The second call out came soon after and was to a gentleman out on a walking holiday. He was on the Pennine Way at Eshton when the 74-year-old experienced sudden onset back pain, rendering him unable to walk. When the team arrived, the pain had eased enough to allow us to assist him into the team vehicle for onward travel to his nearby accommodation.

We wish both casualties the very best of luck in their recoveries.
