Male fallen from height How Stean Gorge
The Team was called by both North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the rescue of male who had fallen some distance at How Stean Gorge.
This was a multi agency incident inviolving NYP, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue crews and specialist rescue unit, YAS and the YAS Hazardous Area Response Team from Leeds and Helimed.
As we arrived the Helimed paramedic had been walked round into the gorge and was with the casualty and providing care, they were soon assisted by the NYFRS Specialist rescue members.
After a quick multi agency briefing we were tasked with setting up and managing the rigging to haul the casualty back out of the gorge.
The haul was quickly rigged and the casualty moved onto the stretcher, they were hauled to the bridge over the gorge and then transferred back to the care of YAS and the helimed crew for a more treatment and then a flight to hospital.
