Deer down a gully Guisecliff
2025/17
Attendees: 7
Duration: 5hr 19min
Total attendance: 37hr 13min
The team was asked by the North Yorkshire Police to extract a deer stuck down a gully in Guisecliff. A small ropes team was dispatched to review if extraction was possible.
On arrival the deer was found to be down the usual dog hole right by the path near the mast.
Following the arrival of a vet the animal was assessed and though we could get to the deer to sedate it, they do not survive well, as such the decision was taken to euthanise it where it was to prevent it suffering.
