The team spent the full day training with a number of other organizations, including team members from the Clapham Cave Rescue Organisation & Scarborough and Rydale Mountain Rescue, in and around Threshfield Quarry. Three scenarios were practiced. The first concentrated on delivering expert casualty care on a walker with a suspected fractured neck of femur. The second scenario intended to hone the search skills of our volunteers by searching & locating items in an area following a plane crash. The final scenario focused on casualty extraction & communication, whereby the team had to recover a casualty in an awkward location. Whilst the training was ongoing the controllers received a live request by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to attend to a fallen male mountain biker at Hawkswick Cote in Littondale. Two rescue vehicles and 10 members were immediately deployed but were stood down on route.
