UWFRA enters a team into The Montane® Spine® Challenger

"The Montane® Spine® Challenger is a non-stop, 108 mile race between Edale and Hardraw with a time limit of 60hrs. This challenging and technical section of the Pennine Way is a physically and psychologically demanding route that demands concentration, good physical fitness, resolve and respect".

This year the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) are proud to announce that three hardy team members have signed up for the event, in the special 'Rescue Team' category to raise funds for the team.  David Dixon, A fireman from Threshfied, Matt Richardson, a carpenter from Grassington, and Joe Parsons, a sound engineer from Carleton, have all committed themselves to rise to the challenge, and attempt this outstanding feat of endurance.  Run in the winter months, this truly epic event not only tests the physical ability of these remarkable athletes, but also their mental strength as they battle the terrain, the elements 'and' the fatigue.  We will be supporting our team members on the Pennine Way as they take on the challenge and it would be greatly appreciated if you could also support them by donating to the team through David's 'Just Giving' page: -
